Something that had a huge implication on the result against Liverpool was the support from the Hull City faithful. They sang their hearts out throughout, silencing the travelling Liverpool supporters and creating a superb reception for their team. As I mentioned before, it's a frustrating time for Hull City fans. On the field it's going pretty well but behind the scenes with the chairman it's another story. However, the fans aren't letting this become a huge issue. They've refused to back down on their beliefs and rightly so. They used their frustrations to drive their team on in a positive way, rather than direct their voices towards those they are angry with. Last week they clashed with stewards over a banner and a tug-of-war ensured, this week they responded to the owners comments by singing 'we are the city, we'll sing what we want.' They certainly do and it makes for a brilliant atmosphere. Something that is key for sides looking to avoid the drop. A loud support from the stands can provide points over the season that the team may not have been able to achieve on their own. There's a reason why the fans are referred to as the twelfth fan and right now Hull have one of the best in the division.
