Arsenal Transfers: 10 DREAM Signings Arsene Wenger Could Make

By Joseph Dempsey /

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger stunned everyone when, in the dying embers of last summer's transfer window, he signed Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for a club-record £42.4 million. The heavy outlay on the German has been more than effective, with the Gunners currently sitting top of the Premier League and in with a shot of winning their first title since 2004. Ozil's four goals and eight assists this season have helped fire Arsenal to all-new heights and their near-decade long wait for a trophy may well at long last come to an end this year. However, fans hoping for further investment from the typically-frugal Frenchman this month may be disappointed, with the manager saying today that new signings in January are unlikely. With Man City and Chelsea breathing down the Gunner's necks in second and third, respectively, this window could have been used as an opportunity to strengthen and widen the gap. But Wenger believes he has enough strength in depth to see off competition for the league crown with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Nicklas Bendtner, Mikel Arteta and Aaron Ramsey back from injury. So it would be a dream come true for Gunner's supporters should the veteran boss sign anyone this month. With that in mind, here we take a look at 10 DREAM Signings Arsene Wenger Could Make.
