With concerns growing over Bacary Sagna, who is still stalling over signing a contract extension with his deal set to expire at the end of the season, Arsenal are weighing up a move for Newcastles Davide Santon. There are fears Sagna will not pen a new contract at the end of the season and Arsene Wenger is looking at replacements, with the versatile Santon top of his wishlist. Santon can play at left-back and right-back, adaptability that is attractive to the Gunners, especially in the event of another injury crisis similar to the one that hit the Londoners defence at the beginning of the season. The 23-year-old, who has also played for Inter Milan, has big-game experience in that he won the Champions League with the Italian giants in 2010. Hes also a proven Premier League star and has his best years ahead of him given his youthful age. Quite whether Newcastle are prepared to sell remains to be seen. Santon has been linked with a £30 million double-swoop by Wenger on the Magpies that is also thought to include Yohan Cabaye.
