Alternatively, with Arsene Wenger looking to boost his striking numbers ahead of next season, the Frenchman could turn to former player Carlos Vela. Vela spent a very low-key seven-year spell at Arsenal between 2005-12, making only 29 league appearances and managing just the thee goals. And, after being loaned out four times throughout his Gunners career to Salamanca, Osasuna, West Brom and Real Sociedad, Vela was allowed to join the latter side permanently in July 2012. There however he has shone, scoring 16 La Liga goals last season with his recent form not going unnoticed by Wenger, who has been linked with re-signing the Mexican. As part of the deal that saw the 25-year-old move to Spain, Arsenal inserted a buy-back clause, and would have first refusal should he become available this summer - something which looks a distinct possibility. Vela is certainly open to a move back to England, saying in a recent interview:
"We will try and reach an agreement in which we all win - Real, Arsenal and me. We must see what can be done. We will decide what will be my future, it is all about finding the best way to be happy."

With Vela previously failing to make an impact in the Premier League, however, is he the right man to solve Wenger's striking dilemma?
