Ashley Young isn't very popular, especially amongst neutral fans. His media attention is down to his antics on the pitch, which is good, but unfortunately he is the fall guy. Literally. His diving is unacceptable. He will take every opportunity to con the referee and his managers in the past have commented that he needs to cut it out, which says a lot. David Moyes is no different. He needs to stop but he shows no signs of changing his ways. He's not the only player to dive and he won't be the last but he doesn't offer much on the pitch as it is, except a tendency to fall like a sack of spuds. Players like Bale, Ronaldo and Pires were all guilty of diving in their careers but they countered this with brilliant performances that demonstrated how great they are, which gave them positive attention and not just focus on their tumbles. That's one factor. You may argue small but many wouldn't. However, a huge factor is he simply isn't good enough. He's playing for one of the best clubs in world football. How? More importantly, why? Why is he there? He impressed at Watford and then at Villa. Sadly, at United he hasn't and has started to fall out of favour with the likes of Kagawa and young Januzaj ahead of him. You'd struggle to find Young a place on the bench, let alone the starting eleven. Rival fans are against him, the media is against him, the manager criticises him and the final straw is the criticism from his own fans. When they don't stand by your side you know your days are numbered. The criticism is far from unfair either, it's justified and encouraged. Ashley Young shouldn't be anywhere near Manchester United.
