Newcastle 1-0 Fulham: 5 Key Things We Learned

3. Newcastle Really Do Love A Last Minute Goal

As the nerves built as the game ticked in to stoppage time, maybe they shouldn€™t have. Newcastle really have struck up a habit of last minute goals. Sunday was almost one of the games where sometimes you have to hold up your hands and say it just wasn€™t your day. Newcastle pushed and pushed in the second half and the goal just wouldn€™t come for long periods. In recent weeks at St James€™ Park however, late goals have been the order of the day with winners coming late on against Chelsea, Stoke and Anzhi. Cisse€™s late goal against Fulham was another to add to this list and it bodes well for the rest of the season. Newcastle struggled in the first half of the season but at home of late there is a new belief. There is a never say die attitude. Newcastle were never going to give up and most importantly never going to give up believing they were going to score. This has been vitally important to Newcastle€™s good home form of late and with belief like that, they will never stop worrying opposition teams.
