Having turned down the opportunity to sign the Spaniard before his bargain £2.2 million move to Swansea City from Rayo Vallecano, Spurs must be kicking themselves after his performances in the Premier League this season. In total, Michu has bagged 19 goals in 33 appearances for Swansea, including a goal in the League Cup final mauling of Bradford City, and his value will subsequently have increased enormously. The fact that there is even talk of him breaking in to the all-conquering Spanish national squad is testament to his outstanding ability. Michu is, of course, a goalscoring midfielder who has become more of a forward, rather than a natural out-and-out striker, but the fact is that he is proving to be capable of doing a good job up top. Michael Laudrup will no doubt be very, very hesitant to lose his star man, but the huge profit that Swansea would make on any potential sale might be too good to turn down and a move to a club of Tottenham's stature should certainly interest Michu.
