Spurs Transfers: 5 Alternative Strikers AVB Should Sign

By K.J. Stewart /

1. Robert Lewandowski

There was talk last summer about the possibility of Spurs potentially making a bid for Robert Lewandowski, but frankly it was just that - talk. But after another season in which the Polish striker has starred - scoring 14 goals in 20 league starts and 22 goals in all competitions (including 5 in the Champions League) - he must be catching the attention of AVB now. Unfortunately for Tottenham, he is also catching the attention of the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United, which could mean being in direct competition for his signature with one of the biggest teams in the world. However, if Spurs want to show the kind of ambition that the Chairman and Manager are suggesting they have, then this is the kind of player they should be pursuing. Borussia Dortmund will no doubt be looking for upwards of £20m for the prolific hitman, but Spurs can afford that kind of money and bringing in a player of Lewandowski's class would send a real message of intent to the footballing world. So, can you think of any other strikers that Spurs and AVB should be looking at who they haven't already been watching? Let us know in the comments below.
