Spurs vs Man City: 5 Key Things We Learned

2. Emmanuel Adebayor Has To Go

No effort, no hunger, no end product... frankly no contribution! The Togolese striker was anonymous against City and looked completely disinterested - and considering this was a match against his former club, which he should be highly motivated for, it's absolutely inexcusable. A couple of semi-decent performances from Adebayor of late had given Spurs fans hope that he might just come good, but performances like this one have far outweighed the good ones and this was by far the worst. He has to go. Jermain Defoe's introduction after 71 minutes was a huge turning point for Spurs and the England striker did more in the 19 minutes he had on the field than Adebayor has done in most of his games this season. Spurs should keep the diminutive little England striker and sign a couple of new strikers, putting any funds gained by selling Adebayor towards doing so whilst getting his unjustifiably massive salary off the Tottenham wage bill. He can be unplayable. But he's mostly ineffective.
