2. There's Too Much Quality In The Squad For Relegation Under Laudrup
I have said in previous pieces on Swansea that I thought they panicked in the January window with the signings of Marvin Emnes and David NGog. I dont honestly think that two average players from the Championship would have done much to aid the club. However, they are both players with a bit of pace that could be dangerous from the bench, so Laudrup obviously decided to take them rather than ending up with no additions. Aside from that though, I see Swansea as a team with plenty of quality that are simply on a bad run of form. There are certainly plenty of players in their squad that most teams in the Premier League would gladly want in their team. Its strength in a number of areas that should keep the club well clear from the relegation picture. This strength comes from players like Chico, Michu, Jonathan De Guzman, Nathan Dyer and Wilfried Bony. I know that injuries have played a part, but I find it hard to believe that a team featuring that kind of talent managed by Laudrup would have gone down. However, now he has been sacked, its hard to know what will happen. I personally think its one of those situations when sacking the manager is a much higher risk, than sticking with him would have been. This is especially the case now the transfer window is closed, and we are into the final straight of the season.
