Whoever lines up in the Spurs midfield against Newcastle faces a battle - with Moussa Sissoko in there and Cheick Tiote back from his African Cup Of Nations duty, the Magpies mix steel, and speed with Cabaye's eye for a killer pass and his shooting from distance. Sissoko might have taken most of the plaudits against both Villa and Chelsea, and rightly so, but Cabaye was a major part of both wins, controlling play from deeper than he had played before Sissoko arrived, with the defensive bite of James Perch to offer him a strong foundation. That is likely to continue today, and Newcastle's success will rely a lot on the Frenchman's influence on play. New signing Lewis Holtby will take a role more like Cabaye's traditional forward thinking midfielder, looking to provide the final balls to Clint Dempsey or Emmanual Adebayor, depending on who starts, and trying to unlock Newcastle's defence. He is likely to come up against James Perch man-for-man on the pitch, but the game will hinge on which one of these playmakers enjoys the better game.
