2. Power Of The Daleks

Patrick Troughton’s debut got off to an explosive start, as straight away the new Doctor is thrown into an adventure with the Daleks. This serial truly is ground-breaking as the first post-regeneration story. Sadly, this story is completely missing bar a few clips. However, Power of the Daleks was animated, and very recently been given a special edition.

Even though it is completely missing, this story is still incredibly iconic. From the Doctor’s post-regeneration to the Daleks assembling a new army, this story is an adventure which has allowed the show to keep going to this very day.

As said, this serial is still viewable to this day through the animated reconstruction. But as incredible as these reconstructions are, it’s just not the same as seeing the original live-action broadcast. To be able to see Troughton’s post regeneration trauma, and the first confrontation of a new Doctor with a Dalek, is something we currently lose out on.
