10 Most Underrated Deaths In Game Of Thrones
7. Tommen Baratheon
Despite the sadistic actions of her firstborn, Cersei’s youngest child had a remarkably sweet nature. In fact, Tommen Baratheon was one of the few genuinely kind characters in the show.
Shortly after his ascension to the Iron Throne, he developed an infatuation for Margaery Tyrell. Given such an infatuation, he was heartbroken after Cersei blew up the Great Sept and murdered Margaery in the process. With his life now literally in ruins, Tommen was overburdened with grief and took his own life.
Tommen’s death was unusual in the sense that it wasn’t particularly brutal or spectacular. Yet it was still a memorable scene. Seeing such a sweet-natured character take his own life due to unbearable emotional suffering was both tragic and captivating television.
The only positive was that Cersei’s plan had backfired. Though she was a deeply villainous character, her top priority had always been to keep her children safe. It was ironic, therefore, that her actions were the catalyst for Tommen’s suicide.
