10 Most Underrated Deaths In Game Of Thrones
6. Khal Drogo
Due to the use of blood magic by Mirri Maz Duur, Khal Drogo became little more than a vegetable in the finale of the first season. Unable to bear the sight of her loved one in such a state, Daenerys then suffocated him.
The strength of this death scene was the clear anguish felt by Daenerys as she ended the life of her beloved companion. Though she had been sold to Drogo against her will, Daenerys had grown incredibly attached to him over the course of Season 1.
Drogo’s death further exemplified how anyone in the show could be gone regardless of their ability. Even though Drogo was one of the most skilled and feared fighters in Essos, he ultimately met his end due to a minor flesh wound. Consequently, as well as being tragic, Drogo’s death was also representative of the brutal and unforgiving nature of Game of Thrones.
Sadly, given that Eddard was unexpectedly killed off in the previous episode, Drogo’s death was somewhat overshadowed.
