7. Ultimate Spider-Man: Web-Warriors/Vs The Sinister 6

The first episode of this offbeat interpretation of Spider-Man's adventures found him joining S.H.I.E.L.D. and training to better himself, to become not just a Spider-Man, but "the ultimate Spider-Man." This relatively proactive angle, a big change from the character's usual self-punishing behavior patterns, makes him a little less easy to identify with, but a little bit more of a role model. Season 3, Spider-Man: Web-Warriors, finds Spider-Man much more of a team player than most versions, not only working with the Avengers but frequently teaming up with other characters and trying to recruit them to S.H.I.E.L.D. For all that, the series has a bouncy, rapid-fire style of humor, often breaking the fourth wall. Season 3 is not yet finished, but Season 4 already has a name: Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister 6, indicating more of an emphasis on organized villains. Anticipation Level: Decent. Like several other animated programs seen here, this show has a style of humor that can divide longtime and newer fans, but at least goofball humour sits a bit better on Spider-Man, who was always a wisecracker, than it does on the Hulk.
