12. Good Neighbors (aka The Good Life, 1975-78)

When Tom and Barbara Good decided to shuck their lives in the rat race and instead move to Surbiton to begin a self-sufficient existence (including barnyard animals roaming the garden and making their own clothes from nettles and fleeces), upwardly-mobile neighbors Margo and Jerry Leadbetter found their noses completely out of joint every week in this marvelous romp. The performances of Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal as the Goods were a perfect match for Penelope Keith and Paul Eddington as the Leadbetters, and never more so than in an episode where Margo grapples with the decision to portray the title role in a production of Sweet Charity.
