Out of all of the shocking events that came to pass during Series 6 (and believe us, there were a lot of them!), this was arguably the biggest bombshell of them all. Even though the first half of the series was building up to the long awaited reveal of River Song as Amy and Rory's psychopathic daughter, it was the previous episode's revelation that Amy had actually been a doppelgänger the whole time (well, since just before the US two-parter anyway) that managed to send an unprecedented shockwave through the stratosphere of the Doctor Who fandom. As such, viewers couldn't quite believe their eyes as the Eleventh Doctor turned his best friend to flesh and the real Amy was just as confused as the rest of us when she then woke up under the watchful eye of the mysterious Eye Patch Lady (so that's who she was!) who told her that she was ready to start pushing out the baby that she hadn't even know she was having. It didn't take Sherlock to figure out that Amy had been acting strangely but nobody could have foreseen that the circumstances surrounding her "phantom pregnancy" would've turned out to be so dramatic. That was only the start of the timey-wimey trauma, too. It's probably worth pointing out at this point that River's identity reveal hasn't been included on this list because it had generally been widely predicted anyway. Besides, fans knew that her reveal was coming which diminished the shock factor, as game-changing as the cliffhanger was. Nobody saw Amy's doppelgänger drama coming which made the moment even more Earth-shattering.
