5 Classic Doctor Who Villains That Still Need To Make Their NuWho Debut

Which classic aliens should Chris Chibnall bring back into the main show?

Jodie Whittaker's debut season as the Time Lord saw completely fresh monsters and a step back from the wider show mythology, with mainly mixed reactions from the fans. So it was a major surprise, for better or for worse, when Chris Chibnall flipped the formula on its head this year by bringing back a number of returning characters and aliens.

Those known to return such as the Judoon and the Cybermen (which we have yet to see back in their full glory), have so far turned out to be complete red herrings for the appearances of the Master, the Time Lords and a certain former Time Agent.

But despite these wonderful shocks, there is still so much of the classic Doctor Who encyclopedia not yet brought back to the show since the 2005 revival. Chibnall has so much of the series' history at his fingertips that he could propel to the modern day and excite both old and new fans alike.

Here's a list of five classic aliens the 13th Doctor should go up against in the future.

5. The Kraals

These aliens were only featured once in Tom Baker's second season in 'The Android Invasion', but they certainly made an impression.

Created at the height of the Philip Hinchcliffe-produced gothic era, the Kraals' distorted facial features were menacing to look at (and the ending of part one of this serial still makes this author shiver). The Kraals plotted to wipe out humanity with a virus, using like-for-like android duplicates, including the Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith, and even replicated a small English village as a training ground.

Wouldn’t it be interesting to see a similar situation with Whittaker and her companions, perhaps landing in what they believe to be Sheffield and engaging with their families and friends, only to find out they are android imposters? A great twist there could see the return of Grace, at which point Team Tardis would realise something was afoot.
