7 TV Shows That Improved In 2019 (And 3 That Got Worse)

3. Titans

DC Universe

DC Universe's Titans didn't have the best of starts, as its grim tone hit too hard too soon and it went all in on the character-centric offerings far too early. However, it attempted to better itself with each passing episode and, for the most part, it did just that. Thankfully, Season 2 was all about continuing that trend.

With more of a focus on the idea of the Titans as a team, the show adopted a much more optimistic tone that was more faithful to the comics and was simply more in-line with what we had all expected Season 1's tone to be. Furthermore, it cut back on the gratuitous violence and delved into the cause of Dick Grayson's broodiness so that it could ultimately overcome its own, while the full-time additions of new characters like Deathstroke, Jason Todd and Conner Kent allowed for much more engaging story opportunities.

It wasn't perfect and it did begin to run out of steam as it approached the finale, but on a whole, Titans' second season was a major improvement.
