These (very) special features are, in fact, messages from the future, directed at the past. Actually, they come from the past, but they pertain to the future...Whatever. Let€™s just start over, shall we? Unlike most other anomalies in Steven Moffat€™s universe, these €˜Improbable Easter Eggs€™ (which probably wasn€™t the episode€™s working title) aren€™t actually trying to kill you (and they haven€™t already succeeded in killing you either), they are, in fact, trying to stop you being zapped into the past by an ages-old enemy that is all around you. Season 3€™s episode Blink not only gave us the debut of perhaps the most memorable monsters of the modern era, but it was also a rather insightful (not to mention deeply scary) satire of obsessive fandom and the €˜bonus disc€™ culture to which we all seem to belong these days. ...But the Easter Eggs aren€™t the only €˜madness of King Moffat€™ moments in that particular episode, which conveniently brings us to the next point...
