4. DVD Extras Can (And Occasionally Do) Contain Messages From The Future...
According to Mr. Moffat, if you look through your DVD collection, youre actually liable to find seemingly unconnected portions of a conversation that you havent had yet. These (very) special features are, in fact, messages from the future, directed at the past. Actually, they come from the past, but they pertain to the future...Whatever. Lets just start over, shall we? Unlike most other anomalies in Steven Moffats universe, these Improbable Easter Eggs (which probably wasnt the episodes working title) arent actually trying to kill you (and they havent already succeeded in killing you either), they are, in fact, trying to stop you being zapped into the past by an ages-old enemy that is all around you. So, the next time you mention something aloud when watching a DVD, be warned, because you may get a response. Season 3s episode Blink not only gave us the debut of perhaps the most memorable monsters of the modern era, but it was also a rather insightful (not to mention deeply scary) satire of obsessive fandom and the bonus disc culture to which we all seem to belong these days. ...But the Easter Eggs arent the only madness of King Moffat moments in that particular episode, which conveniently brings us to the next point...
