In true dramatic, rom-com style, Clara blurted out that she loved Danny in the most inappropriate time imaginable. Amid the chaos of the Skovoz Blitzer attack, Danny learning that the caretaker was an alien that led a secret life with his girlfriend and the Doctor reacting angrily to the interruption by 'Mr P.E.' Clara reveals her feelings for Danny. Suddenly there is hope that everything that has built up between them has not been ruined by this new event. Given the bitty nature of their shared screentime, you would assume that Clara has fallen in love way too fast. But Moffat has cleverly built up their relationship over the last four episodes, showing them their future (their great grandson Orson), her determination to have a normal life to balance all the drama of her travels in the TARDIS and a great chemistry between Jenna Coleman and Samuel Anderson's Clara and Danny. That final scene in her living room, snuggled up on the sofa feels completely natural and we believe that he cares for Clara as much as she does for him. We surmised after Listen that Danny Pink may be the reason she eventually leaves the TARDIS and after the events of The Caretaker it feels like a distinct possibility.
