Doctor Who: 10 Most Disappointing Concluding Episodes

By Luke Williams /

3. Pyramids Of Mars

This is an example of a story which had everything to work with but rather than be boring and fizzle out, it takes a trampoline the size of a continent and jumps the shark so high it headbutts the hubble telescope. While it started out as a slow and brooding demonstration of absolute power, it twists in episode four so that it become a puzzle game that is somehow integral but padding as well. It uses an ancient Grecian puzzle in an Egypt basedLis tale. It doesn€™t even rip off the right thing which has been ripped off for thousands of years. Then it throws away the creepy Sutekh design for something which would find on a shelf in a nursery. As such, it stops being Pyramids of Mars as soon as it gets to the Pyramids of Mars. The most famous breakdown of a promising story in all of Classic Who.
