Stephen Fry was originally supposed to write Tooth and Claw but was so confounded by the shopping list Russell T Davies gave him, i.e. Buddhist monks, Queen Victoria and a werewolf, that he handed in a script as filmable as the phone book. He then had no idea how to rewrite it, so he threw his hands up in the air and went home. It would be interesting to see the two great icons of Britain come together again for Series 9, since Moffat would allow the mans imagination run wild by letting him fill the TARDIS swimming pool with Earl Grey Tea and have the companion be a swan.
