Doctor Who: 10 Times The Doctor Just Didn't Give A F***

9. Straight-Up Telling The Daleks To Exterminate Him

It can’t be easy having to battle aliens and monsters every week, and even more so when the same intergalactic tinpots keep cropping up time and time again after you think you’ve seen the last of them. It’s easy to see how that could wear a Time Lord down!

Ten is clearly at his absolute wits' end with the Daleks by the time he comes across them in 1930's New York. Not only has he already had to deal with their return multiple times by this point, but the last time he saw them, he lost Rose. And to top it all off, they’re the very same Daleks that caused him to never see his beloved companion again!

You can understand why he might just lose it a little bit here, and lose it he does, abandoning all pretense and asking the Daleks to kill him if they'll spare the other people. It's one of those moments that would be stuffed full of flashbacks to Doomsday if it had aired during RTD2.

Now yes it isn’t uncommon for the Doctor to put his own life up as collateral to save innocent people, but there’s something about the desperation and context here, that just makes his pleas of "Kill me if it’ll stop you attacking these people!" cut deeper.

Truly, an image of a man who just doesn’t care what happens to him anymore.
