The Tardis is an eleven-dimensional being who exists across all space and time. Shes older than the Doctor, and remembers everything from the birth to the death of the universe. Mental contact that comes too close to her can kill a person, as it nearly killed Rose. And what does Clara do when it says no? She yells at it. It takes a very special and slightly insane kind of guts to boss around the Tardis, but Clara does it without hesitation because the alternative is to sit around and do nothing to save the Doctor. And the essential reciprocal understanding of Clara and the Doctors relationship is that she will always come for him, and he will always come for her. So she bosses around the Tardis and wins the argument.
