Clara spends most of Journey to the Center of the Tardis playing the damsel in distress. Companions always spend time damseling, its part and parcel of the deal. What Clara doesnt do is act like a damsel in distress. Her response to being rescued from a terrifying zombie burn monster is to punch the Doctor. I love that she didnt do a girly face slap, she just went straight for a punch in the arm. The Doctor expected a hug for being all heroic, but forget that, shes been running scared from his pet monsters! Not that hell tell her what they are, or why theyre there. Not without her asking him, again and again.
