5. It's a Doctor Who Meets Sherlock Holmes

This may not be to everyone€™s tastes, but for many (this writer included) the above image is hugely cool. It€™s the Doctor dressed as Sherlock Holmes! In the Sherlock Holmes hat and everything! Aside from just this picture, the reason to be excited here is that this special may pay homage to the last time the Doctor dressed like Sherlock in the classic Tom Baker story €˜The Talons of Weng-Chiang€™, which sees the Doctor investigating a mystery in Victorian London €“ sound familiar? The episode is a favourite of many (as well as Moffat himself) and so any modern Who episode which features nods back to it are on the right track.

4. New TARDIS

That€™s right, A NEW TARDIS! AGAIN! Yes, it€™s been announced that Christmas Day€™s episode will see the first appearance of a redesigned TARDIS interior €“ calm yourselves everyone! We have very little to go on apart from this scant photo, but its visibly metallic, apparently darker €“ to reflect the Doctor€™s sombre mood after the loss of his two friends? - and, look, it has Gallifreyan writing around it. Fans are speculating all over the internet but only time will tell us what else it includes.
