The Osgood boxes are a tool and the Black Archive is a classroom. This is a Doctor who is not as blind to the messes Ashildr accused him of leaving behind as he once was. Hes taking the next step moving on from protective parent to teacher. He wants the people of the universe to grow up and hes putting in the effort to make that happen. This is an exciting development in the story of the Doctor and one hopes to see it expanded upon. There are many possibilities for future writers to explore in both the growth of the Doctor and the people he comes in contact with. The Doctor is not only mentoring he is creating leaders to carry on his teachings. Its interesting he brought up the concept of a messiah as he is fomenting his own quiet revolution through the dissemination of knowledge. He must be aware of the potential of this to backfire if his fans turn into disciples. We have a tendency to worship our heroes and deny their faults. Once again the importance of the companion comes into play as they provide the check the Doctor needs in order to maintain balance rather than be tempted by the power he holds.
