This was a dark time for The Doctor, and we get to see an entirely different side to his Eleventh incarnation in this story. We finally get to see the angry side of his Doctor, and boy does it hit hard. This is pure rage, it's not planned and even he doesn't know what's going to happen next. For once his enemies have gone too far, stealing away one of his companions in order to defeat him using their child surely is a step over the line for him and we get to see the fantastic unbridled angst that we hadn't seen since The Waters of Mars. Matt's acting is on top form here, the diverseness of his acting is what makes The Eleventh Doctor such a fantastic character. It's even more scary when Eleven is angry as we never see him like that, this time he isn't hiding beneath a fez or making a funny joke. This is him and he only has one goal; to stop Madame Kovarian.
