While the rest of the episode split fans down the middle on whether it was the best episode ever or the worst, one thing's for sure; this speech is fantastic. It's raw emotion in words and I wouldn't be surprised if some Whovians welled up at this scene. We get such a sense of loss from The Doctor and really believe that he is a 1000 year old alien. As a tear rolls down his cheek you feel sorry for him, he is going through so much pain and anger and loss all at the same time, and to top it off a giant pumpkin faced planet is sucking it all out of him, talk about a rough day. When he finishes his speech with a shout of "take it all baby!" and hangs his head low knowing his ordeal is finally done there is a massive sense of accomplishment. This is one of those good speeches where something comes out of it. Well, maybe if all of that wasn't beaten by a dried up leaf there would have been more of an impact.
