Even up to that final moment when he opened his eyes, it felt like the show-runners were still trolling the audience, hyper-extending the sequence and making it seem like Melisandre's magic wouldn't work. But then, with a great shower of fan joy, he opened his eyes and the credits slammed shut. Perfection in a single moment.

Around that moment of course there was a lot more to enjoy, with Ramsay's villainy rising dramatically thanks to his familial murder spree that culminated unthinkably in feeding his infant brother to his dogs. If there was any doubt who this season's big villain would be, this blew it roundly out of the water.

Best Moment: Jon Lives! Walda, Roose and their baby don't.
