3. The Night King
There’s a serious step up in class between Euron Greyjoy and the Night King, the second of the final season’s big villains. He’s only been in a handful of scenes and has no lines, but the devastation he has wrought has already changed Westeros forever.
Since the very first scene of the show, the White Walkers have been the slowly looming threat. Season 8 will see that brought to a head, with the army of the dead finally breaching The Wall. This will bring the Night King face to face with the rest of the cast, and surely will mean his doom.
The whole show has been building up to this moment; the ending might be bittersweet, but not so bittersweet that the army of the dead wipes everyone out, surely?
Likely he will take some major characters down with him, and may even destroy Westeros’ way of life entirely. But eventually, almost certainly, he will fall. Bran is only beginning to explore his powers; maybe he’s the key to victory in the Great War.
