The final season of Gotham has been a lot of things, but disappointing certainly isn't one of them. The beloved Fox series got off to an explosive start several weeks back, and has only continued to improve ever since.

The latest episode, Ruin, picks up directly from where the previous left off, as Captain Gordon attempts to deal with the fallout following the horrifying explosion at Haven. The GCPD captain struggles to cope with the devastating loss, as most of the refugees that were inside the complex died instantly when it went up in flames. Much of Ruin centres around Gordon's desire to catch those responsible for the heinous devastation - a task which proves difficult due to the severe lack of evidence.

It's not all about Gordon, however, as the sinister Jeremiah Valeska finally makes an appearance - his first this season - in a scene that gives us a few clues about his devilish plans for the city.

Much like the previous episode, Ruin primarily focuses on the dynamic between several different groups of characters, and how, in a post-apocalyptic environment such as this one, it can often be better to put differences aside and work as a team. Overall, it's another wonderful instalment in what's shaping up to be Gotham's strongest season to date.
