Star Trek: Every Starfleet Uniform Ranked From WORST To BEST

44. The Captain's Wraparound Tunic - Late 2250s/Late 2260s

Captains in Starfleet were afforded some luxuries of choice in comfortable uniforms. Both Christopher Pike and James T. Kirk wore variations of a green tunic, wrapping around their waists, fastened with a Delta on their left side.

Kirk's first version had gold adornments on the collar, while his later version switched to gold piping. Pike's variant was similar, with gold piping, though he adorned his with a standard Starfleet Delta on the left breast. This variant, along with Kirk's later variant, had rank insignia on the sleeve cuffs. This version made an appearance in the Mirror Universe, brought over aboard the USS Defiant, and then worn by Captain Jonathan Archer.

An early version of this wraparound tunic was worn by Charlie Evans in the episode Charlie X, designed as an early option for Kirk, before the green version was the overall winner.
