Star Trek: Every Starfleet Uniform Ranked From WORST To BEST
34. Field Jacket - Early 2400s
By 2401, Starfleet had issued a new field jacket, similar to the away or excursion jackets seen in previous years. This was a more minimal design, featuring division colours along the shoulders. Like the dress uniforms of the period, rank insignia could be added, but were worn vertically as opposed to horizontally.
In a design choice that was similar to Christine Clark's Starfleet uniforms of the mid-2380s, the division colours weren't solid across the shoulder, as a black triangular segment broke them up from the upper chest to the collarbone.
They were fastened via a zipper that ran straight down the middle of the jacket, with the combadge position on the left breast. Captain Liam Shaw was seen wearing a dark undershirt with a red division stripe across the shoulder, which may have been paired with this jacket. At least one other crewmember aboard the Titan-A also wore one.
