5. Starfleet Uniform - Kelvin Timeline -2263

The uniforms for Star Trek Beyond were designed by Sanja Milkovic Hays, returning to Trek after working on Star Trek: Insurrection. For both Chris Pine and Karl Urban, her designs were an improvement on Kaplan's uniforms from the first two films. They were both interviewed by Collider in 2016, with Pine commenting:

The pants were fantastic, this time.

He also explained that this version of Kirk's uniform was closer in theme to that seen in The Original Series, as it was a mustard-green colour, rather than the bright yellow seen previously. Urban particularly singled out another aspect of Milkovic Hays' designs:

...the women in the Starfleet uniforms in Star Trek Beyond all had ranks on their uniforms.
