Although he's our entry point to Alexandria Safe-Zone, Aaron has largely existed on the fringes of the main group since then, without ever quite breaking into it.

He took on some more prominence in Season 7, and that's likely to continue in Season 8. He's more determined than ever now to fight back against Negan, which is a worrying sign, but it's more likely he'll be kept around so they can explore the effects of another death on him.
