4. "Molto Bene" Was A BIG Tenth Doctor Catchphrase

"Allons-y!", "Weeeell", "What?" and "Molto Bene" – one of these things is not like the others.

The Tenth Doctor, a Time Lord of many catchphrases, is considered by some to have molto bene as a major part of his repertoire, probably due to its importance at the end of the Series 4 episode Midnight.

It is very memorable and very funny and all, but if we told you that he actually barely says it in comparison to his other iconic lines, would you be surprised?

Ten doesn't say molto bene once throughout Series 2. Zero. Zilch. Nada.

He says it once in Series 3 (right at the end of The Family of Blood).

And he says it once or twice in Series 4, with its main use coming in the aforementioned Midnight, and that's only because it's repeated by Donna and Sky.

Compare that to allons-y, which is introduced in Series 2 finale Army of Ghosts and has more than triple the usage of molto bene across the Tenth Doctor's run, as well as being spoken by him during his return in The Day of the Doctor, and then twice by Tennant's Fourteenth Doctor in the 60th anniversary specials! You can practically see David Tennant gleaming every time you say it.

Still, molto bene is arguably the more fun catchphrase to say. Molto bene! MOLTO BENE!
