10 Awesome Wrestlers WWE Sacrificed For The Greater Good

4. Daniel Bryan (Fastlane 2015)

Royal Rumble 2015's closing scene was a sham, with the Philadelphia crowd completely rejecting winner Roman Reigns, even with The Rock by his side. 'The Big Dog' drowned in all the city's bile and venom. It was a thunderous denial of the company golden boy, and just like the year before, part of why his victory failed was down to who didn't win.

Reigns was booed because he wasn't Daniel Bryan, and that sucked for him. But, also, he wasn't Daniel Bryan, and that sucked for the fans.

The aftermath saw WWE attempt to rectify the situation by having Reigns put his guaranteed WWE Title shot on the line against Bryan at February's Fastlane pay-per-view. The booking planted seeds of false hope in the crowd, and Bryan lost an awesome bout, shaking Roman's hand afterwards, telling him: "you better kick [Lesnar's] ass."

The Greater Good:

Trying, in vain, to get Reigns over as the ultimate babyface. Bryan's handshake was supposed to be an endorsement. In booking it, WWE were saying: "look! Your favourite wrestler likes Roman, so you should like Roman too!"

It failed. Miserably.
