4. Ember Moon

It's pretty incredible, when you think about it, that five members of the NXT female cast were called up to the main roster last month and Ember Moon - who has contested some of the brand's best matches this year - wasn't among them.

But perhaps it's also for the best. You can easily get lost in the shuffle if you make your bow amid a host of fellow rookies - just ask Heath Slater - and a meaningful debut a few months down the line could help generate some momentum.

There can be little doubting that she's ready for the step up, though. Those two matches she shared with Asuka at TakeOvers Orlando and Brookyln were of the very highest quality, epitomising exactly what the WWE Women's Revolution is all about.

Having punctuated the year with an NXT Women's Championship win at WarGames, Moon has also added some gold to what has been a breakthrough 12 months.
