Sasha Banks and Naomi had won the Women's Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania 38, but had grown frustrated with their creative direction. As the story goes, during an episode of Raw, the champs walked into John Laurinaitis' office, placed the belts on his desk, and told him they were leaving.

The team were stripped of the belts on the following SmackDown. By the end of the year, it was revealed that both women had officially left the company.

Naomi ended up in TNA, performing under her real name of Trinity Fatu. She won the Knockouts Championship before returning to WWE at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

As for Banks, her career has gone in a wildly different direction. Taking on the name Mercedes MonĂ©, she has blazed a trail through the indies, New Japan, and, most notably, AEW. Leaving WWE was one of the best decisions she ever made.
