10 Controversial Cases Of The WWE Censoring Fans

2. Fans Kicked Out Of SmackDown Taping

This story grabbed the headlines for the sheer numbers of fans that were kicked out by WWE officials, with Jair Nunez claiming that 10 fans€”himself included€”were removed from SmackDown tapings at the beginning of August. Admittedly the story originated on Twitter, but Nunez€™s persistence in contacting the WWE and various performers suggests that his claims were not made up. Nunez states that he and his fellow fans weren€™t even chanting inappropriate things, and that they were simply €œhot€ for Del Rio before being given €œthe boot€ during Adam Rose€™s dark match. Sure, Del Rio was a heel at this time, but cheering for the bad guy shouldn€™t be reason enough for fans to be kicked from the show. Incidentally, the evening of the tapings was Del Rio€™s final appearance for the WWE before he was fired for €œunprofessional conduct€ two days later. That likely has nothing to do with the fact that the Del Rio supporters were ejected, but nonetheless, unless the WWE had a more valid reason for their actions this is perhaps the most unfair sanction of the lot.
