10 Controversial Cases Of The WWE Censoring Fans

6. Night Of Champions 2011

At Night of Champions 2011, it appears that WWE officials had a bit of a field day. There were multiple reports of a number of signs being confiscated, but much like the previous Sting-related signs it looks like the company had good intentions here. One of the signs in question read €œWWE owns UFC€, and while that is obviously only the opinion of a WWE fan, that kind of sentiment probably isn€™t going to do much for the relations between the two companies. Worse still though was a second sign reading €œwish Benoit was here€. Little needs to be said about this one as it€™s obviously a very distasteful and unnecessary addition to the show. Therefore it€™s no surprise that the WWE wanted this message removed from view and quite frankly it€™s hard to argue with them on this one. There€™s nothing wrong with a bit of banter at a wrestling show€”in fact that what makes a live event so great. But when that escalates to another level then it needs to be pulled in. Once again we€™re starting to see evidence of the WWE using censorship with the right reasons at heart.
