10 Dream WWE Matches (That Will Never Happen)

3. Chyna Vs. Becky Lynch

The late Joanie Laurer had good times and bad in WWE, but one of the disappointments of her career was that the company boasted very few female wrestlers of her calibre. Perhaps the best thing to come out of WWE in recent years is the completely revamped women’s division, in which Chyna would have absolutely excelled.

With her charisma and ability she could have had a great match with most of the locker room, but a one-on-one with Becky Lynch is perhaps the most appetizing. Both have been pioneers for women’s wrestling, and the matches Lynch and her cohorts are currently putting on makes it all the more disappointing that the promotion didn’t get their act in gear 20 years earlier. Two fierce, explosive characters, Chyna and Lynch would nowadays be able to exhibit the kind of aggression that the former never could with the limited roster of her heyday.

The handling of Chyna, and of Laurer herself, is a black mark on the WWE, but at least lessons have seemingly been learned. If nothing else, the company finally recognises women as performers, rather than just objects. Even if the changes took far too long, they’re to be celebrated.
