10 Fantasy WWE Matches That Took Place On Free TV
5. Stone Cold Vs. Ric Flair (Raw, 2002)
Technically, this wasn't the very first meeting between Austin and Flair. They had shared one or two matches during the former's time on the books of WCW in the early '90s - but that was before he became Stone Cold, and therefore doesn't count.
Their real first encounter went down on an otherwise unremarkable episode of Monday Night Raw in June 2002, a couple of weeks after Austin had seen off the pair of The Nature Boy and Big Show in a handicap match at Judgement Day.
Since Flair had, by this point, reached a time in his career where wins and losses didn't really matter one iota, this one was allowed to go the distance, with the Texas Rattlesnake scoring a historic victory after hitting his opponent with a Stunner.
This would ultimately turn out to be be the fourth-last match of Austin's storied career, and two of the remaining three were against Eric Bischoff. So yeah: it's a pretty special one to look back on, and we got it for absolutely nothing.
