10 Fantasy WWE Matches That Took Place On Free TV
4. Batista Vs. Kurt Angle (Raw, 2005)
You kind of have to do a double-take when you find out that Batista and Kurt Angle only faced each other in the ring one time, and that one time was a two-minute match on an episode of Raw in July 2005.
The context here was that the Olympic gold medalist had just been traded over to Monday nights in the annual WWE draft, and was awarded by Eric Bischoff for making the trip across the divide with an instant shot at the World Heavyweight Title.
Sadly, Triple H felt that his business with The Animal wasn't quite finished. First, he and Ric Flair came down to the ring, and then a few moments later so too did Shawn Michaels, so ending the bout in a disappointing DQ finish (that's starting to sound familiar).
In all likelihood, Batista versus Angle is a feud that would have gone on to define SmackDown the following year, but the former picked up a long-term injury on the eve of the Royal Rumble and the latter jumped ship to TNA before he came back. This is all we ever got.
