10 Fantasy WWE Matches That Took Place On Free TV

3. Shawn Michaels Vs. Rob Van Dam (Raw, 2002)

It seems incredible that a pair of kindred spirits like Shawn Michaels and Rob Van Dam only shared the one match. It's not like they were kept apart by time or location either: they were both on Monday Night Raw in the early 2000s. For like, five years.

Their one and only dream clash went down on an episode of Monday Night Raw in November 2002, RVD becoming the new World Heavyweight Champion's first-ever challenger just a week after he had won the thing in a bruising Elimination Chamber.

Like virtually everything else on Raw between 2002 and 2005, however, the match was ruined by Triple H. Just as HBK and his young opponent were beginning to build up some steam, his DX co-founder rushed down to the ring and forced the referee into calling for an early bell.

Granted, this made plenty of sense at the time: Shawn and Hunter clearly had plenty of unfinished business still to settle over the months ahead - but if we had known then that there would be no rematch, we might have kicked up more of a fuss.
