10 Forgotten WCW Wrestlers You Totally Don't Remember

Not one of these forgotten WCW names made a splash in WWE. Not even one!

You really find some hidden gems when skimming through old episodes of WCW TV. Nitro and Thunder had all the big stars like Goldberg, the nWo, Sting, Ric Flair and more, sure, but Eric Bischoff packed in a ton of names you won't remember too. Some of the matches booked are astonishing looking back.

Then, there were the syndicated 'B' and 'C' shows. Saturday Night and WorldWide had oodles of glorious nonsense on them, especially in the mid-to-late-1990s. Earlier in the decade pre-Bischoff, other folks in charge hurled everything they could at the wall to see what might stick. WCW content is a treasure trove for anyone hoping to say, 'Who the hell is that guy?!' over and over again.

As the tagline says, exactly none of the wrestlers included here went on to experience any kind of WWE success. They were WCW flops, for the most part, or journeyman pros who lucked out by joining in on the 'Monday Night Wars' fun when the promotion was red hot.

Hey, maybe your new favourite underdog hero lurks within...

10. The MOD Squad

Here comes the Spike, and here comes the Basher. They're not Demolition, but they do have some banter. That definitely wasn't The MOD Squad's entrance track during their short stay on WCW screens in 1990. The motorcycle cop pair were enhancement talents at best, but they'd actually been around the horn before showing up in the big time.

WCW would be a last hurrah though - both guys retired from the ring in 1991.

Spike was Jim Jefferson and Basher was Mack Jefferson. They came together and debuted as a tag-team in 1984, then worked a few shots here or there for the NWA before the big World Championship Wrestling rebrand. Sadly, The MOD Squad pair wouldn't play a part in WCW's rise throughout the 90s. Again, they'd kissed goodbye to that wrestling noise long before Nitro was ever a thing.

One Reddit user described Spike and Basher as Big Boss Man lite, which is pretty accurate. Vince McMahon probably would've loved a biker tag like this though. Think of the merchandise opportunities! The MOD Squad were money left on the table. Ahem.
