10 Great Babyface Wrestlers Who Became SHOCKINGLY Good Heels
5. Cody Rhodes
At time of writing, Cody Rhodes is currently in the midst of a long run as WWE's premier babyface.
He'd done extremely well as a good guy, revitalising the company's main event scene and the concept of a modern blue-eyed babyface. Some fans are growing tired of his rosy-cheeked antics, though. Some people want him to return to his days on the independent circuit.
After Rhodes left WWE in 2016, he completely reinvented himself in multiple ways. He took on the role of an entitled big leaguer who lorded his wealth and status over hard-working babyfaces.
This persona carried him to multiple championships in multiple companies, including Ring of Honor. He defeated beloved ROH original Christopher Daniels to win the top belt, which drew nuclear heat from the loyal fanbase. This made his eventual loss to Dalton Castle even sweeter. It was during this time period that made Cody who he is today. This is when joined the Bullet Club, met the Young Bucks, and started calling himself the 'American Nightmare'.
He was absolutely brilliant as a heel. Hopefully we get to see this side of him in WWE very soon.
