5. Jeff Jarrett vs. DDP (Spring Stampede - April, 2000)
One thing which seems to be forgotten during WCW's final year is just how much Jeff Jarrett worked his ass off to consistently put on good matches. Despite all the nonsense, the creative problems, the worries about where the company was headed, Jarrett acted as the glue which held together the main event scene. Never was that more evident than the great match he put on with DDP at Spring Stampede. Falling smack bang in the middle of what was considered a new dawn for the promotion, the battle between Jarrett and Page over the latter's World Title represented the ongoing war between The Millionaire's Club (the aging stars of WCW) and The New Blood (supposedly the future of the company). http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x643xv_ddp-vs-jeff-jarrett-wcw-title_sport Admittedly, there was a lot of excitement amongst fans, who dearly hoped this rivalry was a ticket to better things for the ailing promotion, which had seemed so directionless at the turn of the millennium.
